An icon in the city since 1912, the Swan Oyster Depot is more landmark than mere restaurant. At the heart of the small, narrow shop stands a beautiful, proud antique marble counter, which has been here since opening day. Behind the counter Kevin Sancimino together with his father and cousin light-heartedly offers the most generous platters with oysters and other seafood. A popular classic is the shrimp salad with crab and a homemade dressing made with fine mustard-butter mayonnaise. Another is the Clam Chowder – a richly filled fish soup with clams, vegetables, cream, and of course lobster. When entering the Swan Oyster Bar, the abundance of delicacies smiles at you from the display. To accompany an unforgettable lunch, try some of their great sourdough bread and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc from Napa Valley. The customers patiently queue up in front of the counter, as they know all too well that you need a spot right in front to be able to enjoy the wonderful theatre of the Sancimino family.
